Hidden Gem in Downtown Plymouth

n2Nico & Vali Italian Eatery  is located on Wing Street in downtown Plymouth. Owners Paul and Silvia DePalma, have done a fantastic job designing their building with both indoor and outdoor seating. They offer a wide variety of food including freshly prepared items for dining it or taking out. The menu offers traditional Italian dishes made fresh, using authentic Italian cooking methods.

Open for breakfast lunch and dinner 7 days a week (9AM – 3PM on Sunday), Nico & Vali serve a first-rate Italian breakfast highlighted by the panzerotti (served with fresh fruit) and a strawberry mascarpone crepe. Other menu items include the breakfast Panini, 3 different Frittatas ( all include hash browns and toast).

For lunch and dinner you will find a variety of items starting with numerous deli sandwiches like their Ruben and corned beef sandwiches to the burgers and 15 different Panini options. You can also get pizza by the slice for $1.95 or an entire pan for $9.95.  The menu also offers you the option to try some of the traditional family entrees like the Butternut Squash Ravioli, Veal or Chicken Parmiggiana  and Gnocchi.  All of the entrees include the homemade bread and choice of soup or Caesar or Garden Salad.

n1

For those who don’t have time to cook at home you can always order from their selection of “Gourmet-To-Go” entrees that include U-Bake pizzas, beverages, and pre-cooked gourmet entrees ready to be heated.  Favorite items such as their Meat and Vegetable Lasagne are always available, other entrees are available to select from but change daily so you may want to  call ahead to see what is available.

When weather permits on Thursday and Friday nights, the outside patio has live entertainment.

You can satisfy your drink desires with more than 100 different martinis, over 200 different kinds of liquors and over 100 beers, and a wine list that offers more than 55 wines.  The bar is unique and very cool with the way it lights up and the atmosphere is very inviting and relaxing.  They also offer outdoor seating weather permitting.  The Downtown Main Martini Bar & Grille’s dedicated and knowledgeable staff and takes pride in offering every guest a night worth telling everyone about.

dt2The  Tapas Menu has dishes like the Portabella Sliders, Pear Pizza (which is topped with mozzarella and crumbled bleu cheese, diced pears, walnuts, bacon) and Pulled Pork Sliders.  You can also make any of the Tapas items an entree and get a basket of the fresh baked bread and soup or salad for $4.00.  There are also healthy and Gluten Free items available on the Tapas Menu as well.

dt4On the Entree Menu, Chef Joe offers everything from sandwiches and salads to some of the best entrees you can find in any Detroit Restaurant.  The Scallops Toscana are a big hit (Pan-seared scallops served with fettuccini pasta sautéed with sweet bell peppers, baby spinach, and garlic in a light vin blanc sauce) so is the Lobster Mac and Cheese, my favorite is the 12 ounce Veal Porterhouse.  There are many great items to select on the Entree menu, but leave room for dessert.

dt3After dinner Downtown Main is one of Detroit’s premiere places to hang out.  There are many different events such as: ladies night, live entertainment, wine tastings, happy hour and weekly food specials.
